Meet Simon Miles

Simon Miles is a seasoned Security Consultant and Close Protection Instructor, currently serving as the Lead Instructor for Close Protection at MK Safety Solutions. His distinguished career in the security industry began in 1988 when he joined the British Army, initially as an Artilleryman and later as a Royal Military Policeman.

During his military service, Simon gained extensive experience through deployments in hostile environments, including Northern Ireland, Gulf War I, Bosnia, Africa, Iraq, Kurdistan, and Afghanistan. He qualified as a Close Protection Operator and later became an instructor at the prestigious Royal Military Police Close Protection Unit.

After retiring from the British Army in 2012, Simon transitioned to the private sector as a Maritime Security Officer. In this role, he was responsible for providing armed protection on client vessels navigating the high-risk waters around Arabia and Africa, safeguarding against pirate attacks.

Simon also held key positions as a Security Manager and Training Manager at Hart Integrated Solutions. There, he designed and delivered Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) training for clients and contractors involved in the EUPOL Afghanistan mission. Additionally, he is a certified Advanced Air Marshall Instructor.

Throughout his career, Simon has delivered close protection services, managed residential security teams, and provided specialized security solutions to multinational stakeholders at the highest levels. His expertise extends to working with UK and foreign royalty, including Her Majesty's Ambassadors in the UK, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Hungary, and various other locations across Europe.
