Abrasive Wheels

Nearly half of all accidents involving abrasive wheels are due to an unsafe system of work or operator error.  This abrasive wheel’s safety training course advises on precautions you can take to prevent accidents in the use of abrasive wheels, in particular injury resulting from either wheel breakage or contact with a running wheel. Its usefulness is widespread – in the construction and foundry industries and in engineering generally.

This training course is mandatory to all workshop personnel involved in the adjusting, assembling, and changing of abrasive wheels.

Regulation 7 COSHH States any tight fitting face piece must be face fit tested. The qualitative test we offer is suitable for up to ffp3 half masks. Please enquire about this service.

The Face Fit test takes approx. 15mins per person so allocate 1.5 hours for this. That’s a total of 5.5 hrs max including training. As each candidate completes their face fit test they are welcome to go.

A minimum of 3 contact hours in the classroom. If the training includes bench mounted equipment, then it will probably run on to around 4 hours but we would add no extra cost for this.

On completion delegates will receive a hand out as well as a certificate. Candidates are required to pass a small theory assessment at the end as well as practically demonstrate the fitting of discs etc.

Learners must be a minimum of 18 years of age upon course commencement.

A maximum of 12 learners can be accommodated on this course.

We are able to deliver this course on your site, subject to a pre-course assessment of your premises, reducing your costs in respect of additional time out and travelling.
